penners

It's not like we played a reserve team. We made a couple of changes! It's a reality of the Christmas period and if it gives us a better chance against Arsenal then so be it.

I don't think playing Song, Morgan or Sakho would have made the slightest bit of difference today.

Re: moaners stinking the place out again
"why leave song on the bench today? it made no sense at all"

Because he a "knock" and Allardyce wants his fit for Arsenal game at Boleyn

This forum is full of nutjobs.

P.S What made it worse was that ugly parental accident Terry scored.

'Couple of changes' equates to TOP scorer and BEST midfielder.

I agree. We're doing great. Long may it last.

The people that SHOULD be allowed to moan are the girls and boys who paid good dollar to get over to W-London today .... just like anytime we play an understrength team....the people that do the miles are the ones that get burnt... the rest of us... tv watchers and streamers... well.... I just simply turned it over after 30 mins... and watched a proper competetive sport ... racing at Kempton... at least it was a contest

Let the whiners, whine so they whine out all tantrums on here.
Then they'll be good little Hammers until the next defeat.

Allardyce is a poor manager and we are high in the League despite him.

That is my opinion and I'm ready to defend it.

Re: moaners stinking the place out again
Do we really expect to play the same (strongest) team for four games in the space of 10 days?

At some point we will have to play a weakened side and it's Allardyce's job to manage that reality. I trekked across London to be at the game today and I really don't see what the issue is.

See its weird that i hear "its only a couple of changes" when on the flip side people have been shitting it that song, kouyate and sahko would be going to the ACN?

No, but it is far more logical to play the best side against the best team and shuffle the squad for the slightly lesser teams, unless you are writing a game off.

We set out without our best two players. Barcelona wouldn't drop Messi and Neymar when they play Real Madrid, no matter how tired they could be, or become.

Re: moaners stinking the place out again
Play your strongest side against the strongest teams. All this bollocks about resting people is just that, bollocks.
We dropped 3 points today by not going for it. No guarantee it would've worked but there's also no guarantee it'll help v Arsenal.
We all know he'll pretty much always stick with 451 and Nolan if he can.
He didn't see shy rewarding not yo last year and he still doesn't.
You don't sack him fort but you also don't give him a new deal.
It's time to move on.

Hammer and Pickle 1:51 Sat Dec 27
Re: moaners stinking the place out again
He knows we hate him and at times, when he feels it's the right moment like at the City game or with Spurs last year, he just gives up and lets the rest of the staff who are not in his pocket take over. Then we win, he takes the credit and its back to the same old dross.

She's shit on the transfer market as well by the way.

Re: moaners stinking the place out again

Not comparable. Real Madrid and Barca compete for La Liga title so el Clasico has massive significance in the context of their season. It's a 6 pointer. Our game against Chelsea couldn't be further from.

A write-off would involve putting a reserve team out. Today certainly wasn't.

Hammer and Pickle 1:57 Sat Dec 27
Re: moaners stinking the place out again
We know it, the players know it and Allardyce knew it.

That selection killed the game today and cost us three points. The bloke is a total cunt.

stewie griffin 1:58 Sat Dec 27
Re: moaners stinking the place out again
Two games in three days is tough. Rotation might even be essential. But even if you're setting up for a point, deciding to 'rotate' or 'rest' the player who specialises in marshaling the area where Hazard, Oscar and Willian interchange and do all their best work, is at best bizarre.

The Joker 1:58 Sat Dec 27
Re: moaners stinking the place out again
A couple of points:

I doubt any other side has two such tough fixtures (on paper) in the space of 2 days this Christmas, so there's no way in our best team can play both those matches. But having said that I believe in playing each game as it comes and playing your strongest available side. So today was wrong imho. You play the game in front of you then look at things again for the next match.

Secondly, Nolan is getting a shedload of stick on here this evening and while I agree he shouldn't be starting, a bit of perspective about today is that until Song and Amafiltino came on, our entire midfield was shit and nowhere near Chelsea's. That wasn't just down to Nolan - highlighted by the fact he was on the pitch when we did have a bit of a spell towards the end.

After8 1:58 Sat Dec 27
Re: moaners stinking the place out again
People have a right to moan when we play poorly when we have a fully fit squad to chose from and have been on a good run. It was a London derby too. Some fight would have been appreciated
Instead we had Nolan stinking the place out.
